Cruises of 7/14 days in the most beautiful Greek islands of the Ionian, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Kastos, Kalamos, Atokos, is the proposal of Velainsieme aimed at lovers of sailing and trekking and those who want to try the experience of traveling and living by boat. Sailing in these waters does not involve long transfers, most of the movements are in fact on short stretches and in calm waters where the wind is not lacking and the thrill of sailing will be fully satisfied.
Between April and May, mid-September and all of October, the temperature is also suitable for hiking and enjoying the sea because the climate is mild and there is little crowding.
Outline program
From Sami (base port in Kefalonia, reachable by plane or ferry) or S.Eufemia (in aternativa for logistical choices, a few kilometers from each other and reachable by taxi or bus at the same price), we head north with a stop in the bay for a first swim in the beautiful waters of Ionian Greece. In the evening we reach Fiscardo, here we can have dinner by boat or reach the village on foot.
In the morning route on the white cliffs northwest of Ithaca. In the afternoon, we move to Kioni, a beautiful village with a beautiful bay where we can rest and enjoy a wonderful aperitif. From here we can dedicate a day following a beautiful path that leads us from the port to the highest peak of Ithaca (800 m in altitude). Amazing view from above
The next morning we focus on Atokos, giving again in its beautiful one house bay. Day of sea and relaxation and late, for those who want it, aperitif on the beach.
The tour of the week then continues with the discovery of Kalamos and Kastos, passing through Atokos where we can dive into an exclusive bay. And then again stop for Vathi (Ithaca), with its natural harbor, the largest in Europe. From here, head southeast to finally return to Sami.
Acropolis of Sami
From Sami if we are in advance we can arrive, through a beautiful path that passes through the woods, or alternatively on the road to admire the bay and the canal of Ithaca, to the ancient Acropolis of Sami, an archaeological site of great beauty from which the area and the new Sami dominates. From here you can continue the journey until you reach the ancient monastery of S. Fanentes.
Ithaca bay pear pigadi / cave rizes
From the beautiful beach of Pera Pigadi southeast of Ithaca starts a well-marked path to climb up to the cave of Rizes. The path immersed in the scrub is full of beautiful panoramic views of the east coast of Ithaca and the neighboring islands.
From Kioni to the summit of Ithaca
Moored the boat in the bay of Kioni we can reach the highest peak of Ithaca, with a difference in height of over 800 m. We return along a path that branches off through oak woods and ancient olive trees full of charm and patos. The complete route requires a full day commitment.
The tour of the lighthouses north of Kefalonia
From the beautiful bay of Fiscardo, north of Kefalonia, starts a mostly shady path, which touches the ancient Venetian lighthouse, the new lighthouse, beautiful bays, villages and woods. It is also possible to walk part of the path.
Kalamos, From Porto Leone to Porto Kalamos
From Porto Leone, an ancient village abandoned after the earthquake that destroyed it in the 50s, following a dirt road and paths we can reach Kalamos port, where I will reach you by boat and stay overnight in the cozy port.
The summit of Kefalonia Mount Enos
In Kefalonia, by organizing a local transfer you can climb up to the highest mountain, Enos, the well-kept path climbs through a vast coniferous forest, from the top the view of the archipelago is priceless.
WHAT AND HOW
We will divide the tasks of navigation and cooking, respecting our travel companions and above all the places we will visit careful to minimize our impact on nature and the ecosystem that will surround us. The route may vary due to weather conditions.
We will prefer to travel sailing and stop in the bay rather than in the ports, to enjoy the sea, nature and cuisine on board. However, there will be stops on land, with visits to the enchanting villages of the Greek islands and their taverns full of the culinary delights of Ulysses’ heirs. Finally, if all the crew wants to head to Zakynthos, no problem, we can plan a new tour all together.

From September 5th to October 27th cruises of 6/14 days, choose your tour and book.
There are discounts for groups and families or for two-week cruises.
• Boarding scheduled at 16.00/22.00.
• Disembarkation at 8.00/9.00.
For crews who choose 2 weeks of cruise, in addition to the tour described above, we will also sail to Zakynthos and the south-west part of Kefalonia.
5% discount for those who book by the end of February. A deposit of 30% of the cost is required when booking.
